A complete and up-to-date overview of all subsidies, tax benefits, and financial incentives for home batteries in 2026. Discover up to €3,000 in savings.
Anyone purchasing a home battery in 2026 can benefit from an attractive package of subsidies and tax advantages. The total financial support can amount to ā¬3,000 or more, depending on the type of system and the municipality where you live. In this article, we discuss all current schemes in detail, so you know exactly what you can claim.
The urgency is significant: the net metering scheme ends on 1 January 2027. Those who invest now combine maximum subsidies with the remaining net metering period. This significantly accelerates the payback period ā sometimes from 8 years to 4-5 years.
The Investment Subsidy for Sustainable Energy (ISDE) is the largest national subsidy scheme for home batteries. In 2026, you can receive a contribution of ā¬500 to ā¬1,500 per home battery system through the ISDE, depending on capacity and installation type.
The ISDE is applied for through the RVO (Netherlands Enterprise Agency). You apply for the subsidy after the battery has been installed. Always keep your invoice and installation certificate. The application is fully digital via rvo.nl and is typically processed within 8 weeks.
To qualify for the ISDE, the following conditions apply:

Available subsidies vary considerably by home battery system type. Below is an overview of the most popular systems and the corresponding schemes:
| System | Capacity | ISDE subsidy | VAT benefit (0%) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Anker SOLIX Solarbank 2 Pro | 4.8 kWh | €400 | €199 |
| Anker SOLIX X1 5 kWh | 5 kWh | €600 | €280 |
| Dyness Tower T10 | 10.24 kWh | €1,100 | €520 |
In addition to the ISDE, you benefit from the 0% VAT rate on home batteries combined with solar panels. This applies to homeowners with a property less than 10 years old and for combinations with newly installed solar panels. The VAT benefit averages ā¬199 to ā¬600 on the battery itself.
The 0% VAT rate applies when the home battery is installed together with solar panels, or when you add the battery to an existing solar panel system at a property less than 10 years old. The installer automatically charges 0% VAT ā no separate application is required.
On top of the national schemes, many provinces and municipalities offer their own subsidies. Noord-Holland, Zuid-Holland and Noord-Brabant have active programmes with contributions of ā¬200 to ā¬750 per household. Always check the subsidy guide for your own municipality or province via the RVO subsidy guide.
It is possible to utilise multiple schemes simultaneously. A smartly combined package can look as follows:
As long as the net metering scheme is still in place (until 1 January 2027), electricity fed back to the grid still earns you a tax reduction through net metering. A home battery maximises this benefit because you consume more solar power yourself instead of feeding it back at a lower rate.
After 2027, the system changes: you will then receive a feed-in tariff that is on average 50-70% lower than the standard electricity rate. Those who invest now benefit from both the net metering advantage and the available subsidies.
