A complete buying guide for 2026. From plug-and-play to high-voltage: discover which system suits your situation.
The home battery market is growing rapidly. There are dozens of options, from compact plug-and-play systems to large home storage solutions. In this article we help you make the right choice step by step.
All home batteries fall into three categories. Each type has its own advantages and is suited to a different situation.
The easiest way to get started. Plug into the wall socket and you start saving immediately. No installer needed, no modifications to your fuse box.
Suitable for: Apartments, balconies, small gardens, or as a first introduction to home storage. Perfect if you have 4-8 solar panels or a balcony power station.
Complete home storage systems with built-in inverter. Simple installation, connected to your fuse box by an installer. Expandable for growing needs.
Suitable for: Families with average to high consumption (3,000-8,000 kWh/year) and 10+ solar panels. Ideal if you want to expand in the future.
Professional storage solutions that work with a separate hybrid inverter. Higher efficiency, more configuration options and suitable for large installations.
Suitable for: Households with high consumption, an existing inverter, or if you want the highest efficiency. Requires a compatible hybrid inverter.

The capacity determines how much energy you can store. A rule of thumb: your evening and night consumption is approximately 60% of your daily consumption. A household that uses 10 kWh per day benefits from a battery of 5-7 kWh.
A cycle is one full charge and discharge. All batteries in our range offer 6,000+ cycles. That's good for at least 15-20 years of daily use.
The DoD indicates how much of the battery capacity you can actually use. LiFePO4 batteries (all in our range) offer 90-100% DoD. A 5 kWh battery therefore actually delivers nearly 5 kWh of usable energy.
High-voltage batteries only work with a compatible hybrid inverter. Always check whether your inverter and battery work together. Our product pages show exactly which combinations are possible.
All brands in our range offer a minimum of 10 years warranty. This covers both defects and capacity loss (the battery retains at least 70% of its original capacity after the warranty period).
Tip: Don't forget that you can reclaim 21% VAT on home batteries connected to solar panels. This saves hundreds of euros on your investment!
Starter / small budget: Start with the Anker Solarbank 2 E1600 Pro. Easy to install yourself, expandable, and a low entry point.
Average family: The Anker SOLIX X1 is the best all-rounder. Start with 5 kWh and expand when needed. Built-in inverter, backup power function, and smart home integration.
High consumption / professional: Choose a Dyness Stack100 or Pylontech Force H3 in combination with a Solis hybrid inverter. Maximum efficiency and expandability.
